Dennis L. Martire extends leadership beyond job role

Every single day, Dennis L. Martire fights for the rights of workers -- for better working conditions, for more stable employment, for fair compensation, so on. He does this through his elected position with the Laborers’ International Union of North America as vice president and regional manager of the mid-atlantic region. This is a role that he’s held since 2002, striving to create positive change for nearly 20 years.

But beyond his daily work and numerous initiatives, Dennis Martire moves beyond the tasks and into providing a vital leadership voice across the area he serves. Martires holds membership across numerous boards where he aids with additional progress in the mid-atlantic area. Among his many volunteer committee roles, Martire is on the American High Speed Rail Alliance Advisory Board, the Service Contract and Education and Training Trust Fund, the Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board, the Dulles Area Transportation Authority and the National Maintenance Agreement Policy Committee.

Dennis Martire holds over 30 years of commitment to the Laborers’ International Union of North America, or LIUNA. Starting with the organization and its mid-Atlantic region just four years after graduation from West Virginia Wesleyan College, Martire began as an international representative for the jurisdictional disputes department. That was 1990. He grew with LIUNA through many roles since then, serving as assistant director, director and in other leadership roles before acquiring his current position in 2002. After a brief two years as assistant regional manager of the region, Dennis Martire was elected to the role of regional manager and vice president. His leadership extends beyond the profession to personal dedication, including his membership within his local union chapter as well as multiple advisory boards and committees.
Following a full career of successes thus far, Dennis Martire was elected to the role of vice president and mid-Atlantic regional manager for the Laborers’ International Union of North America.
